As people of many faiths, united in our belief in basic human rights and dignity for all, we commend you for passing the Resolution Calling for the United Church of Christ to Advocate for the Rights of Children Living Under Israeli Military Occupation at the Thirty-First General Synod. Your courageous and moral action paves the way for others to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and creates the conditions for a lasting just peace.
"...the Thirty-First General Synod of the United Church of Christ calls on the State of Israel to guarantee basic due process rights and exercise an absolute prohibition against torture and ill-treatment of detained children, ensuring that, from the moment of arrest, all operations and procedures are carried out in accordance with international juvenile justice standards, specifically the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child."
