Barbara Hanst: In Memoriam

I met Barbara in 2013, and the very next year found myself joining her on a life-changing Sabeel trip to Israel/Palestine. She was fond of saying:

"Once you see, you cannot unsee."

Barbara was a woman of strong faith and a longtime, passionate advocate for human rights in Palestine. She went to Israel/Palestine many times and volunteered in Nablus, advocated for the establishment of the Boulder/Nablus Sister City project, and started the First Congregational Church, UCC Boulder Human Rights for Palestinians group.

She was active in Sabeel programs in Denver and was a tireless advocate for human rights in general and Palestine in particular. It was a great privilege to have counted her as a friend and mentor.
